More about Tanya Witkowski:
I am a European trained hair designer and stylist who moved to Traverse City in September of 2007. I have been cutting, styling and coloring hair for 14 years. In my home country, Ukraine, I owned and operated my own salon for ten years. As a woman who loves her work and who strongly believes in continuing education, I attended many seminars (including doing some assistant teaching) with a wide variety of European instructors.
While a student in Ukraine, I completed my university degree in education and competed as an Olympic level athlete. It was after receiving my degree that I discovered my love for hairstyling.
I love to bring out my client’s beauty through their hair style and color. Good hair design should work to provide balance to a client’s appearance. We all have good features we want to bring out, and other features we want to have balanced. And of course, different work and social functions sometimes require different designs. I am continually researching new styles and designs to help me in the creative process of working with your hair.
One of the greatest satisfactions of my profession is to see the warm and genuine smiles of my clients as they see their new beauty emerge. And I’m always a warm and friendly ear for my clients as we get to know each other. I also get great satisfaction from creating a unified and stunning look for wedding parties.
I am very happy about living in America. I’m particularly happy about living in the beautiful Grand Traverse region. My husband is a business consultant and our daughter is a busy student and aspiring singer. When I’m not working or doing things with my family, I love to work in my flower gardens and also research and cook new recipes.
